SoccerZone Plans $200,000 in Improvements to Local Facilities

Futsal Court and Upgraded Turf are Planned

Portage, Michigan. June 2, 2017. SoccerZone, an indoor soccer business with local facilities in Portage (7187 Sprinkle Rd.) and in Oshtemo (6255 Technology Ave.) will add a professional caliber futsal court as well as upgrade the turf on two indoor fields this summer. The work is expected to begin in early August and will take approximately 3 weeks to fully complete.

“I am very pleased that we are able to take this step and I am sure our customers will love the improvements,” said SoccerZone Founder Mike Garrett. Facility Manager Tim Martin stated that “the addition of futsal to our leagues will be a great opportunity to all the area travel clubs and existing select teams we have playing here. We see our indoor soccer leagues and new futsal surface being complementary activities for both fun and player development.”

The existing layout in the Oshtemo location will be adjusted to allow for the installation of a futsal court as well as maintaining a large indoor soccer field for league play. SoccerZone currently has four full indoor soccer fields, a smaller training field and a combination fitness & turf area in their two local facilities. SoccerZone is part of a larger company, Let’s Play Soccer.
